Management Team
Jennifer Carter is the CEO and Founder of Carter Admissions and has responsibility for operations and sales. She was previously employed at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley where she worked as a strategy consultant, formulating plans for business development. In 2005, Jennifer began a small college essay editing service, providing one-on-one tailored application advice to high school seniors in the New York area. Over the past few years, that service has expanded to include general essay editing and coaching services. Other entrepreneurial initiatives include assisting with a business plan for the opening of a Smoothie store chain in New York City, Juice Generation. Jennifer holds a BA from Yale and is currently pursuing her MBA at Harvard Business School.
Zach Clayton is the Chairman of Carter Admissions and has responsibility for marketing and administration. Prior to Harvard Business School, he served as president of New Media Campaigns, an online marketing and software development firm in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Zach co-founded the company and continues to serve as the Chair of its Board of Directors. Previously, as a partner in The Resources Group, he created advertising campaigns and managed strategic communications for clients, including Deutsche Bank, National Infrastructure Capital Group, EchoStar Communications, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association of America, and NewsCorp. He was named “Tarheel of the Week” by the Raleigh News & Observer for his political and community involvement. Zach has written for The Hotline, authored op-eds for newspapers across the country, written two books, and appeared on CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News. He earned a BA from UNC Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Zach is an Eagle Scout.
Zachary Richner is the Chief Operating Officer of Carter Admissions. Zack brings to Carter Admissions four years of experience in the college consulting business as the founder of a Long Island-based college consulting company. He has guided students and their families through both the freshman and transfer application processes, and his clients have gained entry into some of the most elite schools in the nation. Zack is currently a student at Harvard University and plans to receive his A.B. degree in Government in May 2010. He has spent two summers as an analyst at J.P.Morgan’s Investment Bank, and his other experiences include interning in the press office of Sen. Hillary Clinton and working as a paralegal at the law firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP. Zack’s passion for writing has also led him to journalism, where he has written for both daily New York City and award-winning weekly newspapers. In high school, Zack received the International Baccalaureate degree. His interests include sports and politics.
Kris Jordan is the Chief Technology Officer of Carter Admissions. He has been designing software commercially for over 10 years. Kris co-founded OpenPage Design, where he focused on designing custom web-based applications. He built relationships with and managed projects for governments, small businesses, politicians, and educators. While attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he was recognized by the computer science faculty with the SAS Charles Dunham Scholar award, given by faculty vote to the “best and brightest” scholar of his class. Kris is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brown University.
